Michael started his training in New Zealand and has had a vast and varied career in Classical Music as a lyric tenor over the past 20 years. While studying for his Masters in Opera Performance at Victoria University in Wellington, Michael was a finalist in the New Zealand Aria, the ODT Dunedin Aria, and the Wellington Aria competitions. 

A Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist with the New Zealand Opera, Michael understudied for Rodolfo in La Boheme in addition to playing the role of Parpignol. Other roles include: Robin Oakapple (Ruddygore - Gilbert and Sullivan), Jupiter (Semele - Handel), Pish-Tush (Mikado - Gilbert and Sullivan), Belfiore (Il Viaggio a Reims - Rossini), and Pang (Turandot - Puccini) with New Zealand Opera and other opera companies in New Zealand.  

Now based in Melbourne, Michael is excited to be exploring the world of Musical Theatre after a hiatus from performing, and is thrilled to be playing Josh in Theatrical’s performance of If/Then.
