Eleanor Greenwood

Eleanor Greenwood is a graduate of Londons Royal Academy of Music Opera School and Australian National University School of Music, and first prize winner of the McDonalds Operatic Aria. She made her professional debut in Ireland at the Opera Festival in Wexford. In the UK and Ireland Eleanor sang for various companies including Grange Park Opera and Dorset Opera Festival, and returned to Wexford Festival Opera in various roles.
A recent Richard Divall Emerging Artist, Eleanor currently holds the position of Associate Artist with Melbourne Opera. She recently made her debut in the role of Sieglinde in Wagners Die Walkre. A diverse soprano, other recent roles include Ortlinde in Die Walkre, Dama in Verdis Macbeth and Annio in Mozarts La clemenza di Tito (with National Opera) directed by Peter Coleman-Wright and conducted by Dane Lam.
Eleanor has sung the soprano solos in HandelsMessiah at Brisbane City Hall and Mozarts Requiemat St Andrews Cathedral. Concerts include Opera by the Lake (Childers), Music on Sundays (QSO), Opera in the Paddock (Armidale), Mozart by Moonlight (Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne), Opera in the Park (Boroondara). Eleanor has toured Chinese Poly Theatres in opera and concert productions.
In 2022, Eleanor joins the Young Artist Program at Opera Queensland (OQ) singing as a soprano. Most recently, she performed in the QPAC Concert Hall season of OQs The Sopranos with Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and toured with the production throughout Queensland in May.
