The ultimate game of cat-and-mouse is played out in a cosy Wiltshire country Manor owned by celebrated Mystery writer, Andrew Wyke. The house reflects his obsession with the inventions
and deceptions of fiction and his fascination with games and game-playing.
 
 Andrew lures his wife's lover, Milo Tindle to his house and convinces him to stage a robbery of her jewellery, which is worth a small fortune and will ensure that Marguerite is kept in the lavish lifestyle to which she has grown accustomed. Andrew will also benefit greatly, by claiming the insurance pay-out and having his wife taken off his hands to pursue a relationship with his own mistress.
 
The ensuing, twisting plot sets off a chain of murderous events that leaves the audience trying to decipher where Wyke's imagination ends and reality really begins.
