Dorothy and her dog Toto are swept from Kansas by a tornado to the magical land of Oz. To return home she journeys along the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to meet the great Wizard. Along the way she makeS friends. A scarecrow needing a brain, a tin man wanting a heart, and a cowardly lion seeking courage.

After a series of challenges including facing the Wicked Witch of the west,, they discover that the Wizard is a fraud. Dorothy learns that she always had the power to return home by tapping her ruby red slipper together three times.
