Sharon has lived and breathed music since at least the first grade, and pursued her passion through tertiary study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music Griffith University. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Music) majoring in piano turned out to be just the beginning, as thirteen years later she returned to postgraduate study, specialising in the teaching of singing. After moving to Canberra in 2005, Sharon started a small business as a piano and vocal tutor which grew to focus on the teaching of singing exclusively, with an emphasis on musical theatre.
In 2011, Sharon began the adventure of Musical Direction with Queanbeyan City Council's production of Blood Brothers, for which she won a CAT Award for Best Musical Director. In 2012, she was MD for Supa Productions' presentation of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds (nomination for Best Musical Director). Since then, Sharon has been enjoying playing flute/piccolo and keyboard in the orchestras for Free Rain Theatre Company's Phantom of the Opera and Legally Blonde as well as launching a non-audition contemporary-styled community choir (One Voice Community Choir).
Sharon is delighted to be working with Stephen Pike and the Queanbeyan City Council again. Just like the famous roadway from which it takes its name, the Sunset Boulevard journey has been a long and winding one, while all the time, the thrill of the music and the story has never dissipated. She hopes that audiences are equally moved and amazed by the skill of Andrew Lloyd Webber's composition, as interpreted by this stunning cast, orchestra and production team.
