Joyanne has been involved in theatre in Queanbeyan for more than 30 years. She joined Queanbeyan Players in 1983 and has performed in principal and minor roles and chorus in musical theatre (including South Pacific, Camelot, The Sound of Music, Salad Days), Gilbert and Sullivan operettas (including Iolanthe, Princess Ida, The Gondoliers, Patience) and drama. She was President of Queanbeyan Players from 1999 to 2003 and 2005 to 2009 and co-ordinated the Players' advocacy for Queanbeyan to have a purpose-built theatre - so The Q has a special place in her heart.

She has subsequently stage managed Chess in 2009, Blood Brothers in 2011 and 2012 and Hair in 2012 for Queanbeyan City Council, and Fame for Queanbeyan Players in 2010 - all directed by Stephen Pike, and the Australian premiere of Terence Ratigan's A Tale of Two Cities, for Queanbeyan City Council in February this year.
