Approaching its 80th year in 2015, the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Victoria has been delighting audiences with its productions of the operas of Gilbert and Sullivan and other works of light opera.   A committed group of like-minded individuals with a love of Gilbert and Sullivan Operas, members of the Society perform principle and chorus parts, create each new production, build the sets and make the costumes. While keeping the genre alive the Society caters to our members and the wider community who enjoy live musical performance.  A sundry benefit is to offer our opera stars of the future the opportunity to gain experience in learning and performing a role, to get roles which will allow them to improve their singing and performance.

The performing arm of the Society, GSOV, has been critically acclaimed as Australia's leading light opera company and at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England have been recognised many times.  In 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2013 Society members have been recognised for their talents.
