Richard came to theatre late in life not performing in his first show until he was 31 in Phoenix Player’s production of Kiss Me Kate (2006). The following years saw him perform in a succession of shows ranging from musicals, plays and pantomimes. He had roles in more than 20 shows in the chorus, as a pit singer, playing minor roles and most recently as understudy for Javert in Canberra Philharmonics production of Les Miserables (2013). Annie Get Your Gun marks Richard’s first time as the leading man in a show. “I’m both terrified and excited. Frank is a wonderful character to play and very challenging but the cast and production team have been wonderfully supportive.”

As active off stage as he is on, Richard has served on the committees of local Canberra theatre companies including Phoenix Players and SUPA Productions, operated lighting and sound, crewed, production managed and last year directed his first show How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2012) for Phoenix Player’s Phoenix Rising Program for which he was nominated for the Canberra Area Theatre Patricia Kelson Encouragement Award. When not working in theatre Richard manages a publishing company and operates the popular theatre website StageCenta.com.

Gerard was introduced to music and theatre by his Aunty Meg in the late 1960’s and credits her encouragement for developing his interest.

Several seasons of Rugby in suburban Sydney enhanced and ensured an ability to project a vaguely harmonious and cherubic singing voice.

Gerard's most recent role was as Sir Robert Menzies in The Deadly Game of Marbles at Old Parliament House (2021). Past shows from the Canberra Theatre scene include Sweeney Todd (2017), Max in The Sound of Music (2014), Annie (2008),  Potiphar in Joseph (2009), 42nd Street (2011) and Annie Get Your Gun (2013).

Gerard enjoys his time on the stage and appreciates the valuable insights of cast and crew. Musical theatre also provides plenty of fun with a feast of opportunities for a good time.

While grateful for his opportunities, his friends know that he really aspires to being a dancer. If only he could dance! His wife and their two daughters have supported his theatrical effort, but all know not to mention the dance issue.

Gerard is thankful for his theatre opportunities and acknowledges the excellent team work and organisation required to bring a show to the stage. 

Gerard was most fond of his role as von Trapp family friend and promoter, Max Detweiler, because he has experience enjoying the finer trappings of life. To sum up the character of Max (and Gerard) - "he likes rich people, he likes the way they live, he likes the way he lives when he is with them".  And so does Gerard.  

Greg is very excited to be playing Tommy Keeler in Annie Get Your Gun. The character has been a lot of fun to explore and provides the opportunity to showcase a range of skills and emotions throughout the show. He is very grateful for the opportunity that the production team has extended to him.

Greg has previously featured in Queanbeyan City Council's I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, played The Bishop and Brujon, and understudied Thenardier in Canberra Philharmonic's Les Misérables and played Skimbleshanks in Free-Rain's Cats. He has also performed in Queanbeyan City Council's Hair, Queanbeyan Players' Jesus Christ Superstar, Canberra Philharmonic's 42nd Street, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and West Side Story, and Phoenix Players' The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Thanks to the cast and crew for their tireless commitment and support throughout the production period.

Peter has appeared in a number of plays and musicals in Victoria, including with Babirra Players, Williamstown Musical Theatre, Catchment Players, and Ballarat Light Opera Company.  Roles include Mr Sheinkopf in Fame, Sir Harry Blake in Naughty Marietta, Captain De Jean in The New Moon, and Rudolph Reisenweber in Hello Dolly! 

He looks forward to making his NSW debut with Queanbeyan Players, and wishes all an entertaining musical evening.

Sarah Bevan is making her debut performance in the Queanbeyan Players, as Nellie Oakley.She has also been praised for her performance in Karabars production of Oklahoma.

She has being acting,singing and dancing since she was three years of age in district arts festivals, the coral festival and major Ballet Concerts every year since 2003.. She is currently enrolled in the performing arts class at Karabar high school and has won many prizes and awards for her dancing and acting ability.

She has performed as a magicians assistant in a professional show for a local school.

She is looking forward to being involved in more musical theatre in the future.

Dale has performed with both the Canberra Opera (2011 - Elixir of Love, 2012 - Magic Flute, Christmas Concert, 2013 - Scenes from Carmen and Rigoletto) and Queanbeyan Players (2012 - Brigadoon, 2013 - Centenary of Canberra Production: The Battle of the Sites) and hopes you enjoy this production of Annie Get Your Gun.

Outside of performances Dale is a creative writer in the realm of speculative fiction across a variety of mediums, and is proud to have recently completed the first draft of his first novel.

Maureen has been a committee member for the Queanbeyan Players for the last 5 years. She first appeared in a Queanbeyan Players production as a nun in the Sound of Music in June 2006. Since then she has regularly appeared in the chorus of various Queanbeyan Players and ACT Singers productions. Her disguises have included such characters as Mrs Parrot in Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, Bloody Mary’s assistant in South Pacific, Pearly Queen and Mrs Brown in Me and My Girl and now Queen Victoria in Annie Get Your Gun.

Prior to re-settling in Australia Maureen appeared in many productions with the Stalham Players, a small village group in the county of Norfolk, England. The theatre group was so small that Maureen often had to double up on either male or female characters in the same production such as Lt Schrank and the girls chorus in West Side Story which involved many costume changes!!!  

Having had her mum croon "they say that falling in love is wonderful..." or stomp out 'you can't get a man with a gun' there was no way Deanna was going to miss the opportunity to be part of this childhood favourite.

This is Deanna's first production with Queanbeyan Players and she is pleased to report that the other side of the border is nowhere near as far away as you would think.

Deanna was involved in Supa's Eurobeat earlier this year, taking a foray into the world of satire as a competitor from Italy, one of the Hungarian Mollar sisters and as part of a Swedish foursome.  She has also been part of Supa's Titanic and their collaboration with Pheonix for Miss Saigon.  However, with a diverse background of Jazz ensemble, world music and choral singing Deanna is always keen to be part of a good singalong and Annie Get Your Gun certainly fits the bill.

Sarahs love of music and theatre started in school plays from the age of 4 (starring role as a turnip!). School shows often included singing solos of some sort and a few lines. As a musician her first experience was her Granny teaching her three blind mice on the piano at 4 years old.
